FREE, two-week Pre-College STEM Academy at Massasoit

July 11 – July 22

9:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Flexible drop-off and pick-up times–breakfast available at 8!
Accessible by Public Transportation

“Our students enjoy hands-on activities, seminars, and field trips. Additionally, they begin to develop key skills such as problem solving, critical thinking, and collaboration. Most importantly, our t students will receive instruction in mathematics—regardless of their current proficiency level—that will strengthen their skills and ensure both academic success and continued interest in STEM.”

Many colleges, universities, and high schools offer specialized academic programs during the summer months for students who wish to take advantage of additional academic experiences during the summer months. As we are notified of summer program opportunities, the information will be shared here.

“Paper to Plastics” (P2P), and it is designed to encourage high school students to consider careers in Science and Technology by converting used office paper into the eco-friendly and biodegradable plastic, poly(lactic acid).  They would like to especially encourage participation from high school aged girls and minorities that are underrepresented in the sciences and engineering disciplines. The STEM Starter Academy is a new initiative that Massasoit Community College is undertaking to promote college readiness for the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) disciplines and promote awareness and interest in the many career opportunities that a STEM education can provide. The STEM Starter Academy is a free summer program for graduating seniors who plan to matriculate at Massasoit Community College.
